William Arthur Millard no info before or after marriage!

I'm doing some research for a friend at work regarding William Arthur Millard and have very much hit a brick wall.
He married Lettice Ferguson on 16th May 1906 and had certainly one daughter Annie Millard shortly after.
After that though or even before that I cannot locate anything for him on any census or anything regarding death or birth.
His father on the marriage certificate is blank and he was aged 28 and his job was a carter but other than this nothing..... 
Can anyone assist in any way?

One other detail was the address he was at at time of marriage was 5 Mason Street, Beswick

A Lettice Millaird born in Manchester appears on the free search on the 1911 census.

With her are Annie Millaird aged 4, Helen Millaird aged 2 and Frank Millaird aged 9 months, all born Manchester.

Also in the 1911 household is Frank Wood, born in Manchester   

No sign of a William, though. You'd have to get some credits to get the full 1911 entry - you might find it interesting

FreeBMD has 4 Millard births with mother Ferguson, 1912-1924.  First in Prestwich, the others in Manchester.

Could be William and Lettice.

I really dont understand though this Millard link after 1911 as from my searches Frank Wood junior was born in 1910 and registered as a Wood not a Millard.
I'm wondering if these other children between 1912 and 1924 are actually Frank Wood senior's but strangely registered as Millard's....??!
She definately as Nanny Jan stated marry Frank Wood eventually in 1928 as my work colleague has confirmed this.....
Might have to ask him the script on the other kids including Helen and Frank pre 1911 to find out that tale....
Any finds though on the elusive William Millard pre or post 1906?

On the 1881 cenus, Willie Arthur MALLIARD (sic) is listed in Manchester with his mother, Mary Ann (a widow) and various siblings, including 3 born in India.  (RG11; Piece 4003; Folio 17; Page 28)

FamilySearch has some births in India which may correspond, with parents listed as Harry and Mary Ann MILLIARD.
