This looks like it might be the 2 McKenna children with Murphy grandparents in 1911- it might be that they were just staying there census night:
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Antrim/Falls/Clonard_Street/172910

Will keep looking but they certainly aren't coming up in any of the obvious searches.

Yep thats them. Agnes was my Grt Grandmother. I never knew what happened to Mary.

Joseph and Agnes refuse to show up on either 1901 or 1911 census.

What was Agnes' maiden name? I'm wondering whether she was the sister of my great grandfather. They lived at 29 Clonard Street, so only two doors down.

Looks like good match for Agnes' death in 1907.

I saw that Joseph McKenna with son Joseph in 1911 but gives Co. Monaghan as birthplace for both.

Thank you both for taking the time to search.

Agnes did indeed die in 1907 and the informant was her brother Alexander. The address Alex was at was 25 Clonard street which confirmed it for me.

As for the census with both Josephs on, I'm quite sure that is them (Perhaps the person taking the details misheard and put the son down as Monaghan as well).
I will note of it anyway.

My nan tells me that in the late 40's Joe McKenna Snr came over to Chester and before she married my grandad so I know he was still alive in the late 40's. Still have not found a death for him but I remain hopeful.
