If i can conclude the requests for this family, could i please have a look-up in 1841/1851 for a William Twist born about 1835 in St. Helens [ 1881 census].

If you are in the UK you may not be aware that many libraries have access to the Ancestry library Collection some this is available free and some there may be a small charge.

www.lan-opc.org.uk which is a free website may also have inormation that is useful to you. The site gives a possible marriage

William Twist - Joiner bachelor of Parr
Jane Smith - spinster of Parr
    Groom's Father: Henry Twist, Collier
    Witness: Jonathan Johnson; Mary Worsley
    Married by Banns by: Francis L Horsham

It seems likely this William was born in Parr. The index on ancestry confirms that in 1861 and 1871 William states born Parr.

Hi Gibel,
No it is a different William and is a confirmed line, but both are in the 1881 Census, and are Joiners.
I am in Australia and do not have any Library service on these subjects, but do use the Lancs OPC site as you kindly suggested, but thank you for the details provided.
The Census post was to determine the actual residence location, and William's siblings.

hello I am trying to find this same family in the 1851 census and it is driving me mad,   I  am searching through every census in St Helens.  thought I would contact you!    I have looked under Twist and Turst.  help.
