Thanks so much, Kings, you've made my day!
I can't wait to visit that area on my next trip over.
(PS, I spent a week in L'Derry this year and loved it.)
Cheers, Dave

The site also contains
Birth : Janet Hamilton BECK 1882 Antrim (father George)
Death: George BECK 1881 Shankill, Belfast City, Co. Antrim
Found on Ros Davies  co down website is beck –bell marriage which very occasionally leads cousins /siblings into a union, so total speculation i list

Hi, I was born in Greencastle in 1961. The original St Mary's church in demolished now and only the foundation stone survives. The surrounding graveyard is overgrown but still remains intact. As a child it was a place where my friends and I played. I made my first communion and confirmation in the old church. I live in Australia now and visited Greencastle and the old church last November. Happy memorys. :)

Hi - I have the tree for George Beck back to the early 1600's.
I've been researching the Beck lines in Ireland and their descendants for a long time.
I would gladly exchange any information you might have on George and his descendants for the earlier information.
You mentioned that George's mother was Helen Hill - I have his parents as James Beck and Elizabeth Hamilton.
Janet Hamilton Beck born in 1882 was a continuation of the grandmothers surname.
Also you mentioned there were two children born in Belfast before the family moved to Scotland.
I have the full details for Janet, but I cannot find any George.
Di you know if James Beck and Elizabeth Hamilton moved to Scotland with George and his family, as there is NO death registrations for them in Ireland.
James and Elizabeth must have died after civil registration commenced in Ireland in 1864, as they had a child, Sarah,  who was born and died in 1868.
George had 4 other known siblings, and his father James was one of 13 or 14 children.
Regards
David Beck ( Co Antrim)

You mentioned that George's mother was Helen Hill - I have his parents as James Beck and Elizabeth Hamilton.
If George's mother was Hill it's more likely she'll be found under the name of Ellen rather than Helen (more popular form in Scotland).
Unfortunately the OP hasn't been online since 2012.

For reference-
marriage (1850) James Beck & Elizabeth Hamilton- his father William Beck:

Birth of Sarah Beck (1868): https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FPYR-FY9

Janet Beck born 10 Jan.1882 Belfast district (mother- Bell) according to GRONI's database (doesn't list middle names) but searching from 1880-1892 I didn't find a birth for a son George.

The George Beck who died 29 Nov.1881 Belfast was aged 67 years.
