Convert pdd file to jpeg? Completed with thanks

I've found that an old scanned photo is in a .pdd format (seems to be Adobe Photoshop). I've no software that will load it (got Picasa, Irfanview, Windows Picture Viewer). Is there anything that will convert it without me having to download new software (seems excessive for a single picture)?

I have googled & can see there's stuff out there that can be downloaded - if that's the only way has someone done this & can they recommend a safe program & source, please?

photoshop elements 10 supports pdd file formats.

You can go to adobe.com and download elements on a "try" basis for free and convert the file.

ps... the file is probably an "unflattened" image meaning that all the layers are separate to enable easy editing, which explains why it can't be opened in a straight forward picture viewer. You might need to flatten the image first before saving as a .jpeg
