James Dempsey and Mary McGee

Does anyone have then im their tree. They are  my GGGrandparents.

Would love to Have Marriage and death  places if possible.

My Great grandfather  John Dempsey was born 1844 antrim married in 1878 to Agnes Gibb Came to australia in 1882.

And 60 years later Im here .

To find their death details you'd need to start another topic on AUSTRALIA board if you haven't done so already. It's possible their death certificates will show far more personal/family details than the marriage certificate will. Irish marriage certificates only list fathers' name and occupation and mothers' names will not be shown whereas the death certificate might give names of both parents.

I have john and agnes gibbs death transcriptions. Now looking for james dempsey marriage to mary Mcgee,  John was born around 1844 antrim. Sorry didn't word it very well not use to useing chat sites. Thank you for mary jane birth date could you help me out with a birth for a john dempsey born abt 1880.

The LDS site gave details of Mary Jane's birth in 1878 but not all births have been extracted so that was the only one I could find with those parents. John's birth should appear in the civil registration index and will give you the details needed to order the certifcate. In case you aren't aware of how much (or actually how little) information appears on Irish certificates- see here:

Have you tried http://www.emeraldancestors.com/index.asp   for John & Agnes marriage?  There may not be any other birth records other than that of Mary Jane and the other sit to look for her birth record is  http://www.ancestryireland.com/index.php?ai_home ( a pay to view site, but it may give you some idea of the fathers occupation etc)  Looking at the Belfast street directory for 1880 there is a James Dempsey which may be your James  http://www.lennonwylie.co.uk/alphanamesdef1880.htm

Also you may find something here for Agnes birth or marriage, again a Pay to view site  http://www.rootsireland.ie/

If you are correct about John's year of birth, it would seem that he didn't marry until his mid 30's so there is also the possibility that he was previously married and widowed .... something to consider.

You could also contact the church where John & Agnes were married, they may hold other information about the families although it would seem that PRONI hold their marriage record.  Hope you find some answers.  VB

PRONI only hold microfilmed copies of some church records (you need to know the church before checking to see if they have the records for that church and if those records cover the likely dates) that include marriages and do not have details from Registry Office marriages.

PRONI does hold some records for Duncairn Presbyterian Church-
Baptisms 1861-1985; marriages 1862-1904
