In 1921 Kenneth Hamilton Deane, previously known as Kenneth Henry Doouss, changed his name by deed poll.

This record does list him as a physician.  Googling the name "Kenneth Hamilton Deane" gets a couple of mentions of him/his family also.

I am not sure how much you know about the Family or how far you have got back with your Tree.


Trees have Williams Doous's Wife Sarah as Sarah Ann BRADLEY
This seems incorrect unless she was widowed when she married William.
Given she was younger than William she may be a second Wife.

Thank you Trish1120 for the welcome and the information you kindly gave me.  What I would be very interested to know is the origin of the name Doouss - or at least our family wonders if this could be a Jewish family as that would seem to fit to that part of London and a Jewish friend has suggested this could be a possible reason for the change of name to Hamilton-Deane before beginning a career as a Doctor in a different part of the UK... Also, wonder if you know if the Kenneth Henry Doouss - (later Kenneth Hamilton-Deane) did indeed have 2 brothers who went out for the gold rush as was here suggested? Anyway, once again - thank you for your help.
