The 1841 census for Zeal Monachorum HO107 piece 252 folio 6 page 6 shows that John was aged 65 and an Ag Lab (Agricultural Labourer) born 'in county'. His wife Joanna was 60 and 6 children appear to be living at home. Ages for those over 15 were rounded down to the nearest 5 years for the 1841 census, so John's birthdate could be 1772-1776. A couple of possible baptisms are shown for Coldridge (approx 3 miles away)

By the way, Tryphena was Charity's illegitimate daughter, not the daughter of John & Joanna.

All came from the Rev. John Gibbings 1550's of Coldridge Church mid Devon not far from Zeal.
Visit the church and his name is on the wall in a list of incumbents of the church. He had 13 children.
