Cap ID if possible please
« on: Wednesday 04 January 12 23:24 GMT (UK) »
This photo is dated 13 Nov 1941 and I have a feeling the man is Canadian or it may be that he moved there after the war.
I know there isn't much to go on but any ideas would be a great help.

A complete shot in the dark, the cap badge vaguely resembles a sphinx, which the Licolnshire regiment and Gloucester regiment used, The Royal Berkshire Regt used a mythical beast, a chinese dragon, all possible
but like I said don't pin to much credence on that. Is there any other info available? writing on the back etc

Thank you both.

The only thing on the back of the photo is the date and studio name Jerome which I think may be a Dublin studio as I have it on another photo as Jerome Dublin.
I don't know who the man is but I have this photo of him and another of his family and possibly others of his grandchildren, they belonged to my grand aunts daugher and I know she had relations in Canada and some of the later photos have that Canadian look to them. I just thought if he had a Canadian uniform I'd be more confortable grouping the photos together.

Looks like he was English.
I'm pretty sure looking at the photos that it was his wife that had the Irish connection or was born in Ireland, I just can't be sure if they moved to Canada or not.

It was a long shot but thank you both for trying.
