In the 1871 Census the Manders from ireland are living at 13 Laigh Kirk Close, Glasgow St.Mary, Lanarkshire.
Hugh should read Henry born Ireland, aged 35.
The below has caused confusion
1912 entry to USA from Canada
Richard Manders 37 (1875) – Shoemaker, born Scotland
Sarah Manders 36 (1876) – wife – Scotland
Richard Manders 11 (1901) - son
Bertha Manders 9 (1903) – daughter – Scotland
Hugh Manders 3 (1909) – son - Scotland
There is also Norman McCauley, Richard's brother in law.

I cannot find Richard (1901), Bertha (1903) in the Census records for England, or Scotland.

This looks to be Richard Jnr with his maternal grandmother and his parents for 1901:

Margaret Mcauley 60
John Mcauley 24
Norman Mcauley 29
Minnie Mcauley 18
Kate Nicholson 37
Sarah Manders 29, daughter b. England
Richard Manders 26, bootmaker, son in law b. Glasgow
Richard Manders 6 Weeks grandson b. Glasgow

Address: 24 Clyde St, Anderston Glasgow

Daughter Bertha b. 1903, the only possible Scottish census will be the 1911 Scottish census - not sure when this family line left for the US?

I cannot find the marriage of Sarah & Richard, in England.

Is it most likely that they were married in Scotland.

Likely marriage showing in the Glasgow area for them in 1900. You can view the image of the marriage here www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk, pay to view but costs are very reasonable.

Thank's again.
Found out that Norman Mcauley left with the Manders family for Canada.
In the 1871 Census were there any Manders in Glasgow, or Gee (surname) from Ireland. Some of the Manders went from Ireland to Scotland and some went to Liverpool.
They were all shoe makers.

Not really  :-\ The main Manders family in Glasgow is Michael, Sarah and Henry which you have the entry for.

Only one (Irish) Gee in the Glasgow are for 1871 - a Mary Ann b. 1837ish. Very few Irish Gee elsewhere.

Not really getting much on either surname for that year.
