Hailey family Amersham/Rickmansworth
« on: Wednesday 23 June 04 21:05 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help? We are trying to trace the name Henry Grimsdale Hailey b.20.7.1799 in Rickmansworth. We believe his father was Thomas hailey b. 1767 in Amersham. Father of Thomas Hailey could possibly have been John Hailey b.1739 married to Ann Adams. Finding any definate links is proving difficult as there are lots of Haileys in this area at this time.Perhaps these names ring a bell for someone!

Hi

I realise yours is a very old message, but if you are still on this board, I was doing a little research on the same Thomas Hailey the other day, after finding some plumbing work stamped with his name from 1824; we wanted to find out who'd made it.

There are two early 19th century graves for members of the Hailey family in Amersham.
DILLWYN - Glamorgan, Brecon & Pennsylvania
NICHOLL - Glamorgan
WELBOURN - Lincolnshire, Canada, Australia
GILBERTSON - Glamorgan, Herts.
MORRIS - Kent
EATON - Dorset
APPLEYARD - Yorkshire
HART - Northants, Kent
FARMER - Worcs
STOKES - Cambs, Northants.
McLATCHIE - Renfrew
CHAPMAN - Kent
ROSE - SE London
JOYNER - Dorset
POWELL - Worcs.
LEACH - Pembs
CHATFIELD - Sussex
WESTON - Wapping/Walthamstow
NICHOLLS - Queenhithe, London
