JACKSON FREDERICK age 28 born York - he appears to be living at 11 Walmgate, there appears to be a lot of others resident but there are no other Jacksons there.

Thanks for the response Joanna but this seems to be a different Frederick as I am now fairly confident that the one I am researching was the son of John Frederick b. 1842 d. 1894.I also now know for certain that he was adopted around 1890.I am still trying however to find out what happened to his mother as I am sure this would answer a lot of questions.

Hi, I am Paul Jackson, son of James Frederick,  first son of Frederick Jackson (born in Aug 1911, only months after Frederick and Bridget were married).  Like you we have struggled pinning down John and understanding circumstances around adoption of Frederick. Did you get anywhere with this? My DNA suggests that Frederick had Irish heritage, as did Bridget.
