I think I will have to say thank you all for all your help and interest, and let the matter lie for a while, before having another look with a hopefully clearer mind, and from a different angle. There are other areas to explore, and time might shed a different light on matters.
I will try to get all the census details as mentioned, and the other marriage details, and try to make sense of them all.
