I have had this WW1 medal in with my coin collection for many decades

But who is the owner - findmypast don't help

Inscription is

G-21711 Pte J.Morton E Kent R

Any help much appreciated

It's quite an interesting medal card - lots of scribble on the front referring to various medals - he seems to have been in army before WW1

There is more on the reverse of that card that probably won't show on the National Archives download

It gives an address

Also on reverse is reference to IGSM - India General Service Medal with a clasp - I think it says Wazn (presumably Waziristan)

Looks like he only served in India during WW1 and then went to Afghanistan and Waziristan in the twenties.

Entitled to British War Medal and Indian General Service Medal with Afghan 1919 and Waziristan clasp.

He may have soldiered on and his records still with MOD
