Just as a quick update here about this topic.
I recently was searching for information about Margaret Davies. I noticed that on her marriage registration to Thomas Powell in 1844, it lists her father as being called John Davies. (There is also a David Davies listed as being a witness, but the relation to her is still unknown...)
In the 1851 census, I found out that Margaret was from Talyllychau. In the 1861 census, it stated that she was from Talley. So, I found out that they are one in the same. I then researched a bit to see when she was born. In both census records, her birth year was +/- 1825. I went to the findmypast website and found that there were three people born in Talley in 1825 (+/- 5 years). The one that matched for me was a Margaret Davies who was born on 18 April 1825, but was baptized on 19 June 1831, along with what appears to be two siblings: Thomas (born 5 Feb 1828) and William (born 14 April 1830). Their abode was listed as being Parkydilfa, a location I'm not familiar with.
I don't know how to find the wife's maiden name. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I also haven't been able to find any of these family members in the 1841 census. They may or may not have been living in Talley since Margaret was living at Merthyr Tydfil at the time of her marriage. Suggestions here would also be appreciated.
Thank you!

Thanks for your message. Margaret's mother on the baptismal entry is Mary.
Also, I tried the link you posted and it wouldn't open. Can you fix this?
