William Stirling (son) died of Angina Pectoris at age 88 in Cobh, Cork, Ireland which made his birth likely 1852.  Jane Cromar Maris (his sister) was the informant of his death.

Many thanks.  I also am hoping to find out where Catherine Sophia Hughes, and husband John Stirling, are buried and if they have gravestone monuments.  Again, thank you for the vital records here.

This is a page concerning a lake that was originally named for Ellen Stirling's son J.E.S.Thorpe of the ALCOA Corporation in the USA. The link cannot be made here on Rootsweb but you can type in the address into Google or another search engine for this. <https://theblueridgehighlander.com/lakes_thorpe_reservoir_jackson_county_north_carolina.php>

In my recent genealogy research into my Stirling ancestors there in Cobh/Queenstown/Cove of Cork, I came across a probate notice for a Maria Stirling who's estate was probated in 1843 in Cove of Cork which is now Cobh.  I am thinking this Maria may be either John's mother or John's sister.  Any ideas?
