Many thanks for the tree, Derek, much appreciated.

Betty

Hi,

Hannah is 2083 on this tree

Derek
I can't think why I haven't noticed this thread before ??? but I have a BOYS direct ancestor.

Hannah BOYS, born date unknown in Eastry.
Married John WANSTALL 1735, Waldershare, Kent.
Eight known children including Boys WANSTALL (my greatx4 grandfather) born 1752, Waldershare, died 1824, Great Mongeham.
He married Lydia HOOK in 1777, Great Mongeham.

I would love to get further back from Hannah.

Handwritten note in the parish records of Great Mongeham:

"John Boys was the 4th son of Thomas Boys, Esq. of Eythorne and was a scholar of Eastbridge (?) Hospital, Canterbury. Vicar of Tilmanstone 1599. Rector of Gt Mongeham 1618, Dean of Canterbury May 1619. Married Angela, daughter of Robert Bargrave, Esq of Bridge. Died Sept 26th 1625 aged 54 and was buried in the Dean's Chapel.."

May be of interest.

Regards

AJ

Betty, I hadn't noticed this part of the thread either, so you are not alone!    Probably a hopeless long shot but if you, or any other Boys descendants, notice the name Simmons or Simmonds or any similar variant, including Symons, in these trees I'd love to hear.    That's how this unusual name came into our family, with a Boys Simmons.

I just picked up your note about the family you mention having 8 other children, and if any of the girls married a Simmons... always worth asking.   Thanks

Hello Maggie1895 ;D  I haven't had much luck with the children of Boys Wanstall & Lydia Hook, only a possible marriage for one daughter, Elizabeth, to a Richard WYBORN in 1803.
No luck at all with the daughters of Hannah Boys & John Wanstall.
These families were all from East Kent, around the Great Mongeham, Sholden, Northbourne areas. according to my Wanstall contact.
I'll keep looking & if I do come across a Simmons (or variants) I'll get back to you.

Hello Derek, yes please, anything else you have on this family will be most welcome.
