« on: Saturday 28 January 12 15:41 GMT (UK) »
hello, i've been everywhere i can think of to find  my grandads artillery battalion / battery (gnr 177637 ernest william moyse) rfa.  i have his bwm and victory medals, no details on m.i.c.  or the roll/register in kew.  i'm told his number indicates entry/attestation  1917.any suggestions apart from the pub would be welcome.  regards  rodders

The MRI (Medal Roll Index) shows his number as 177367 - not 177637 - Gunner (GNR) in the Royal Field Artillery and received the British & Victory medal

yes, you're right! 177367 it is,  not a very good start.  thank youanyway,  for looking up for me.  i have seen the voters list and found an "a" beside his entry while he was away, is there an absent voters list for battersea (wandsworth) area for 1917-1918-1919? regards  rodders
