Hello peoples. Just discovered Clinton name in our family. I know Peter Clinton was born 1834 Westmeath 1834 Ireland but not sure if from Delvin? He emigrated to Victoria Australia on the ship "Caterina" 1850. Ballarat  when the first gold was discovered. poor eyesight meant he needed a colder climate so he came to New Zealand firstly Auckland then Canterbury residing at Lincoln.
Mr W F Clinton was born Victoria 1856 came to NZ with his parents. He married my great aunt Miss Mary Bruce form Kinnitty County Offaly they had four sons and three daughters. Living at "Evergreen Dale" at Darfield Canterbury in the South Island.  Any here possibly related to these CLINTON'S or know where exactly they came from in County Westmeath Ireland.
