There is a photo in  YARROW of Andrew Dalgleish and his wife Martha Porteous , gravestone , on Ancestry. Could the person who submitted it get in touch with me as they could possibly clear up a little mystery I have.
Thanks

Ev,
Thank you for the Mundia website ,I had not heard of it before. I have sent a message to the owner of the Dalgleish tree,so hopefully I will hear back.
It looks a very promising site !
Cheers

Alan ,
Thanks for replying . I have been researching Martha`s parents James Porteous and Grace Henderson. For two years I always assumed that there was 6 children ,but I recently received information from a relative who was clearing out his cupboards, and found James and Graces family tree . I was surprised to see another two children ,Martha b 1826 at Wamphray ,and Grace b ?
As the Porteous clan is very well documented I was a bit sceptical , but decided to have a search ,The only clue was Yarrow under her name . I finally found a death for Martha ,and sure enough her parents were James Porteous and Grace Henderson . Martha was the name of her father`s sister. However I can`t seem to find Grace, on Scots people or LDS. I found a Grace  Porteous in Toronto, in the grave of a Janet Porteous from Dumfries , but as she had no husband or children I can`t say for certain it is her. I wonder if you knew of a sister for Martha.
Any information would be great
Thanks
Evelyn Porteous

Alan ,
re inscriptions . Do you know of any other members of the Dalgleish family buried in Yarrow Cemetery. ? I think I have traced 3 members that emigrated to USA, it would confirm my findings if they are not there
Thanks
Evelyn

Alan,
This is great thanks. I do have Andrew and Martha`s  photo of gravestone ,but it looks as though Andrew`s Grandparents and G Grandparents are there as well. I didn`t know there was any Porteous  members there . I managed to access the Dalgleish tree on Mundia, and contacted the owner who lives in Australia. She has given me some info. on one or two families who emigrated ,some to Usa and some to Australia.   I now have lots of information about  Andrew and Martha`s children . We are going to go to Yarrow later this month ,we live in Dunbar, East Lothian , and see if we can find other members of the Porteous and Dalgleish families.
From not even knowing Martha existed I have  traced her children all over the world !
I am  very grateful for all your help.
Evelyn

EV,
As you can see from the correspondence between Alan and I , the Mundia site has proved a goldmine !
Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
