Can someone confirm the marriage of Fanny Tew to Frederick Weston as the daughter of George Tew?
This may involve a trip to the record office...
I know there was another Fanny Tew born only a few years after our Fanny

When, and where, was Fanny born?

A look-up on the 1901 census would be possible, but info re birth is required!

It not just a case bobbing into the records office, looking it up and out with the info requested, as one has to know what church either in the city parish or a outer town Parish , village or hamlet chapelry they married at or it could be a register office wedding.

 As KGarrad !! says the 1901 census is your best option! where they lived and give the date of birth or bapt of Fanny if known.

According to the 1901 Census Fanny WESTON is born c 1876, Leicestershire
Next Census they have been Married 13 years and have only 1 Child, Sydney/Sidney Ernest Weston, age 12.

1891 Census has a Fanny Tew born c 1876 with Grandmother SARAH born c 1818 and her Sons;
HARRY c 1853, Widower
JOSEPH c 1866, Single
All down as born Leicestershire

1891 Fanny Tew may be Unm under Fanny PEWS born c 1873, Leire, Leics. She is a Servant in Stapleton, Leics.

Mike has it right.  Sorry for the delay in replying, time difference here.
George and Elizabeth are her parents.

As for the census of 1881 and 1891 that is the different Fanny, her father is Henry.
Interesting to see "Pew" that could very well be her.


A Fanny Tew married a William Weetman on the 13 May 1888, and then all trace of them vanished (in the censuses) after that.
 He wasnt from Leicestershire but she could have been working somewhere.

I had her down marrying Frederick Weston thinking that was my lady, but after checking the census results and finding another Fanny Tew in Leicester blew my thinking out of the water.

Not William Weetman, wrong Fanny Tew.  This marriage took place in Stafford, and fathers name was Thomas Tew.
So back to Frederick Weston.
