Hi Marion, Sorry for the late reply.
Well Eric Spillane one of Cecilia and William Spillane's children was my grandfather. He married Ella Taylor and their daughter was Denise Spillane ( my mother)  It is all very interesting isn't it. We live just out of Melbourne and quite often visit Bourke St where the statues are over looking the mall of the old Gaunts Jewellers location. Are you living oseas? Also do you know if there had ever been some sort of family reunion? Regards Rachel

Hi Rachel - my grandfather was Thomas, the second son of Cecilia and William. We live in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, so I get to "visit" some of Gaunt's clocks as we drive around. I always watch for his town hall clocks when we use Citylink - Emerald Hill (South Melbourne), Sandridge (Port Melbourne) and Hotham (North Melbourne) can all be seen in the distance. It was fascinating to find out their histories, and the stories of many of his other clocks, as part of the research for my book. I'm not aware of any family reunions, but that's not to say that one couldn't be organized...

Hi again, so very interesting.  So in regards to your book how do I get a copy? Also would you be interested in meeting?

Hi Rachel - I'd love to meet and I could bring the book with me. I live near Knox City shopping centre - perhaps we could find somewhere between our places to suit us both?

Hi again,  I don't work Mondays so was wondering if you would be free 22nd Feb. Is Fountain Gate shopping centre far for you?
