Headstone, Sandymount Cemetary Glasgow - COMPLETED
« on: Tuesday 07 February 12 09:55 GMT (UK) »
HI

I wondered if anyone was visiting Sandymount Cemetary in Glasgow, if so would they be able to take a photo of a headstone ?

The info I have is that the grave is in Lair 1405  section R

The grave is of Robert McIlduff - Wee Robert - and he died 14th February 1929 aged 4 , his parents are also buried with him but I understand there is no headstone for them.

Thanks in advance to anyone who maybe able to help

Hi Fiona,

The attached photo is Section R in Sandymount.

A number of years ago I was doing a bit of research on Flying Officer Marie Gray of the Canadian Air Force who is buried in Section R, Lair 180 which is marked by the stone topped by a cross right in the centre of the photo.

I don't know how near (or far) Lair 1405 would be from this spot.

Have you found out there is a stone?

In your initial post you thought there might not be.

Anyway, Sandymount is pretty big, so attached is a wee map showing where Section R is.

Anne

HI Anne

As far as I'm aware there is a headstone, a few years ago (before I started my research) someone visited the grave and said there was a headstone but they didnt take a photo ! I have no idea what it says but would love to know, he was my dads younger brother and died when my dad was 1

Thank you for the photo :)
