I just wanted to recommend to everyone - if you haven't tried this site in a while and you're looking for people in New York, try it again.  They have added a bunch of new papers, especially from southern NY state including Westchester Co. and Dutchess Co., and a few from other states like Connecticut and Massachusetts.  I recently found 4 obituaries for my husband's direct ancestors, three of whom I didn't even have death dates for.  The search engine isn't perfect, so try different combinations of names/places.

This is a helpful tutorial on using the Fulton History site.  http://whereyoucamefrom.blogspot.com/2014/01/tutorial-searching-fulton-history.html

Newspapers from many more states besides New York have been added, so it may be worth checking the index to see if it covers wherever you're looking.
