Hi Philpot,

Lovely to hear from you and welcome to Rootschat, it is a great site.

I'd be very grateful if you could let me know where and when William died and is buried, he is my only real brick wall at the moment. If you haven't got the Australian side on your Great Uncle's Tree I'd be only too happy to let you have all that I have. Once you have done three posts on Rootschat we can send each other personal messages which will make it easier to send the records.

Cheers,
Tissy

Hi Philpot,
Thanks for the info but unfortunately your Grandad is not the William O'kelly I am looking for. The one I need to find was William Kelly born either 1802 or 1807, Baltinglass, Co Wicklow who married Anne Germaine, Co Wicklow on 19 July 1831.
Their children were: John b 1836, Margaret b 1838, Maria b c1839, Annie bc 1840, William b 1843, Thomas Joseph b 1844, Edward Peter b 1847 (he is the one who added the 'O' to the name) and Michael b 1849.

If this is your line it would be great to be able to swap information.

Cheers,
Tissy

Hi Philpot,

Sorry it has taken so long for me to get back to you, I have a bout of the flu.

I'm not actually descended from the Kelly clan, I'm doing the research on the family for a friend who is descended from Thomas Joseph Kelly. I've found a heck of lot for her to date but as I said previously, the one brick wall I have is finding the death and burial of William Kelly, husband of Anne Germaine. Any help you could give with that would be much appreciated.

Thanks also for the extra children that you had listed, I hadn't found Bridget, Teresa or Patrick but I did have Margaret b c 1838 who died aged 6 years and is buried with her mother and some of her siblings in the one grave at Baltinglass cemetery. I have a photo of the headstone if you would like it.

Hopefully hear from you soon.

Regards,
Tissy

Hello,

William O'Kelly was my ancestor of mine and I have a bit of information about him. Edward Peter O'Kelly became an MP for West Wicklow for the Irish Parliamentary Party and died on the floor of the House of Commons in 1914. The rules of the House of Commons had to be amended because of that. If you want more information feel free to private message me and I'll send you a family tree.

All the best.
