Donald McBeath/MacBeath, Dingwall death 1871-81 but when?
« on: Wednesday 15 February 12 20:42 GMT (UK) »
Trying to find the registration of the death of Donald McBeath/MacBeath (born Clyne 1837) sometime between 1871 and 1881 - no sign on ScotlandsPeople.

He's present at Gradens Lane, Dingwall in the 1871 census and his wife, Grace (nee Matheson) is identified as a widow in the 1881 census (still in Dingwall).

Any suggestions? Many thanks

If you have tried all possible spellings and nothing comes up, have you restricted yourself to Dingwall? He might have died elsewhere. Would his work have taken him away from home?

It is possible that you might find something in the  newspaper indices on the free Am Baile site.

Graham.

No help with the date, but the following stone is in Mitchell Hill, Dingwall

23. In memory of our grandmother Grace Matheson who died  14th Jan 1914 wife of Donald MacBeath, and their son William died 1st Jan 1933.

Thanks both for your help  :)
We have searched wider but are wondering now whether he might have been in the forces. As Ghostwhisperer's found the grave stone covers his wife and son but not him
