Hi Christine,

Don't give up yet, Central Cemetery is General Cemetery and I can check burial records at Nottingham Archives also there is Rock Cemetery which I'll also check. Carlton Cemetery have a on line search and I've already checked that.  As I've ready said newspaper archives are at the library and I'll go though those as soon as I can but might not be for a week or two.

Do not give up not all is lost yet :D

Hi Miss Piggy,
I'm very new to the site but as I was investigating a family murder I find that we are related. I have been reading my Grandmother's memoirs and she talks about her Grandfather being murdered. She recalls her Uncle Jim coming to the house to fetch her mother to her Grandfathers house in Oldham Street. My Grandmothers name was Annie James and her mothers name was Annie James nee Straw.
Regards
Steve

Hi all. I’m also descended from James Straw (May Straw was my great grandmother) did anyone get any further with this? As it happens I don’t live far from Nottingham so could go and check records?

Hi MickMac,

I am sorry, but it seems Christine, aka miss piggy has sadly passed away.

If you look at the last post on the link below you will see a message from her niece... perhaps she could help you?
