1841/51 shropshire barrow look up please :)

I am looking for a Joseph Britland born 1827 in barrow shropshire. i would love to know where he was in 1841 and 1851

i am hoping to find his parents through you so any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've just seen this post and was wondering what your connection was to Joseph Britland?  He was my 3 x great grandad and I'm fairly sure he wasn't from Shropshire at all, I think he was possibly from Cheshire?

It's not my family but perhaps there was some confusion between Barrow Shropshire and Barrow Cheshire?

That's what I think, the 1861 census does say Barrow, Salop but that could be a mistake by the enumerator.  His burial record says his father is Thomas and there is a Joseph Britland born to Thomas and Margaret in Christleton, Cheshire which is about 5 miles from Barrow.  There's definitely no Britland's in Barrow, Shropshire.

In 1851 he says he was born Great Boughton Cheshire.

Thanks Trish & Amondg, Great Boughton is very close to Christleton so will go with my suspicion it was Cheshire 😊
