MINCHINTON from Somerset and Dorset

Hello,
I'm researching our family name, Minchinton, sometimes spelt Minchington, Minchenton or similar.
We live in Australia and I have come to a stop as I can't find any information from Yeovil and Yetminster, Somerset  and Chetnole in Dorset.
We are descendant's  of  James Minchinton born 1752 in Yeovil and Sarah Shears born 1764 in Somerset. Their son John born in Chetnole in 1796 then married Mary Ann Crocker born 1795 in Pulham Dorset.  Their son John born 1829 in Corsecombe, Dorset married Ellen Amelia Butler born 1835 in Falmouth immigrated to Australia and from there I have good records.
If you could help with any of the early history from Sommerset or Dorset I would  really appreciate it.

According to information from Dorset FHS, a James Minchinton and Sarah Shears were married at Stockwood Dorset 0n 10 December 1785.

According to your dates of birth for John and Sarah he would have been 14 and she 21. Is this correct or is there a typo in there somewhere?

HI, Thanks for the quick reply and also picking up my typo.
James was born in 1752, so that's better being married at 33
Sarah 1764, so 21 when married.
I will correct that mistake of mine right now.

When I enter John Minchinton 1796 born Dorset 3 public trees come up. One of them has the father of James Minchinton b 17 August 1752 as John Minchinton b 1710 married to an Elizabeth Russel but there are no sources.

Have to leave this now, hopefully someone with access to more resources than me will be along shortly.

The old familysearch.org IGI site has the birth, marriage and children of John Minton and Elizabeth Russel in east chinnock 12 Oct 1737 but the entries I read are member submitted and unsourced. Having said that it may give some ideas on how to continue.

Yes, I have seen those as well, but much much un-sourced info there.
I have some more site from a couple of helpful people in the chat room here, so will have to check them out in the next few days.

Hello my married name is Minchinton and I have been tracing my husbands family tree.
His Granfather is
Archibald George Brien Minchinton Born 1885 St Helier Jersey Channel Islands.
he married Rose Hanna Collins on 5/8/1915 in Kigarah NSW Australia.

His father is George James Minchinton born 19/6/1860 St Helier Channel Islands.
He married Mary Louisa Brien 26/3/1884.
He died in New Zealand in 1914.

His father is John Minchinton born 1823 St Helier Channel Islands.
He married Anne Gallie on 16/Jan/1884 and they had 8 children.

John's parents may be
William Minchinton born 1/6/1778 in Mudford Somerset
I have him listed as Married to Anne Brown

If any of these people are in your tree I would love to hear from you
