My father bought Prospect House and the adjoining sawmill business in 1956, from the daughters of Thomas Sinton Edwards. I was brought up there and know a little of the Edwards family history.

Hello Col22

Looking help in finding David & James date of death and location of grave, any other details would help, are there members of the family still living in the Armagh area?
I am in Armagh and if possible I could visit them and explain why I am researching their name and others.
Is Prospect House the big house beside the Timber yard?
Joe

Yes, Prospect House is 120 Railway Street, beside the timber yard. At seven years old Thomas lost a leg in the railway disaster and his brother Joe, a local magistrate, went to live (and die) in Australia. Thomas had three daughters who all went to live in England and as far as I know are now all dead. One of them had a son, Alan Graham, who came to visit us in Railway Street about ten years ago and seemed to know a lot about the family, but unfortunately I don't know his address. A chance encounter with an assistant in the Co Armagh Museum revealed that they had photographs of at least Geo Archer, Joe and Thomas, and he kindly provided me with photocopies of them and the brief details on the reverse side. It might be worth trying the museum for more photos and possible details. Before moving to Railway Street the Edwards family owned Woodford House and surrounding land on the Newry Road (beside the SELB stores).

Hi, I note someone has been enquiring about the Edwards Bros who lived in Armagh at the turn of the 20th Century. I am directly related to this family and can I be of some assistance.

Hello Ian
Sorry for the delay in replying to your post.
I am a researcher with the www.armaghwarmemorial.com Project (have a look at the site)we are gathering details of people from the Armagh area who died or were KIA in the Great Wars of WW1 & WW2.
also those who survived the Wars,I think it is important that we remember those people also.
I would be interested in any details that you have.
Joe
