Harberton Parish Records - TURPIN
« on: Wednesday 22 February 12 07:54 GMT (UK) »
Hi there

I would really appreciate some assistance in tracing the parents and any siblings of my 4th great grandmother, Mary Ann TURPIN. The 1851 England Census records her born about 1802 in "Harburton, Devon", residing in the parish of Holbeton with her husband William Brown and children.  The 1861 Census records her as born about 1803 in "Harberton, Devon".

If anyone could look up the Harberton Parish Registers for me in the hope of finding her baptism, parents names and any other relevant information, I'd be very grateful.

With thanks in anticipation
Surnames: Bradburn,  Dale, Gibbon, Guswell, Nixon, Pinhey, Pizzey, Provan, Rockey, Turpin, Woodhead.

Areas: Devon, Suffolk, Lincolnshire  (England) , Pembrokeshire (Wales), Lanarkshire, Stirlingshire (Scotland), Cavan (Ireland).

Actually, we don't have an OPC for Harberton - sorry! A full list of Devon parishes with covered parishes hyperlinked in blue is at http://genuki.cs.ncl.ac.uk/DEV/OPCproject.html
However, I can tell you that a John TURPIN married Susanna HANNAFORD 15 Sep 1790 at Harberton. On Mary Ann's marriage entry in 1832, one of the witnesses was a Benjamin TURPIN. A Benjamin TURPIN was shown in the 1841 census living in Churston Ferrers, aged 70, wife Martha.
