Super fun name game
« on: Wednesday 22 February 12 17:52 GMT (UK) »
Well, I think it's super fun, but don't hold me to it!  :P
Basically, after coming across some unusual, and often brilliant, names (such as swan Whiffin) I decided to deliberately seek them out by typing random words in the free BMD database. I've always loved different names (hence my resentment at being called Jennifer, the most popular name in england/America for the years surrounding my birth!) and often use them for characters in novels, or just as ideas for any future babies I may have  ;D
I know there is already a thread about people most uncommon name, but this is a little different as it's borne from deliberately searching, plus the other one is very long so it's always nice to section threads like this up so none are missed :)
So here are a few of my faves so far:

Flowers Flowers
Princesse Blanche Marie Amelie Caroline Louise Victoria Princess D'Orleans Orleans (Duc de Nemours)
Flowerday Peggs < I absolutely love this name!
Rocky Loveridge
Roman Jug
Pebbles Stanton.
Christmas Breeze

Brilliant :)
I just found:
Leaf Leavesley
Leaf Plant
and -  Leafey Daisy Carey. That last one I'm thinking 'named for where they were conceived' might possibly apply?  :P

I found one in census some years ago - Peachey Oke - which I thought was a lovely name for a girl, then realised he was a bloke!  ;D

Hehe these are great, poor old Peachy! - Happy and Sunny made me think of Honey - so:
Honey Cakebread
Honey Brown (Made me giggle as is the colour of my sisters hair dye :p)
Honey Coombe

Sweet Hart - if you're on ancestry do search for Sweet, HIS(!) signature is on a lovely freedom of the city contract thingy to let him take on apprentices I think.

Sweet sweetwater

I also found a sunshine Huggins, perhaps the same family? :p

Windy Charlish
Winderler Loose - surely a mistranscription? Winderleler?!
Forkinatus Webb - would so love to know how they came up with that one!
Rainbird Brothers
Rat Canterbery
Mice Partridge

I like that everyone goes on about celebritiesa and their weird baby names, when people have been thinking outside the box for hundreds of years. :)
