« on: Monday 27 February 12 21:44 GMT (UK) »
I am very interested in the Bain family from Antrim my great grandfather was James Bain died 1954  last address 35 Fife Street Belfast aged 76. He apparently was born in scotland and was divourced once married twice. His Daughter was Nora Bain ( maybe norma who has a nursing hospital named after her. James' wife was Mary Jane Bain. James helped on the titanic.

Note: now also posted on Midlothian board-

Hi,
There is possibly a connection. 27 Dec 1920 James Bain married Mary Whitford nee McILFETRICK in St Annes Church of Ireland, Shankill, Belfast.
On 29 Jan 1918 Alfred Whitford married Mary McILFATRICK in Trinity Church of Ireland, Shankill, Belfast.

Possible family- a Matthew McIlfatrick with daughter Mary Jane-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Antrim/Duncairn_Ward/Glasgow_St/132482

Also a James Bain in Glasgow St. in 1911! Birthplace England (as he's a boarder in the household could be incorrect) and occupation plater!

Matthew Dinsmore McIlfatrick born 1909 Belfast (aged 2 in 1911 census).

Have a feeling I might have more details on this family in my notes.
