Hi Pels,

It certainly doesn't help when the birthplace differs to such a degree from one census to another  ::)

So I'm also baffled!!

I've had a look for a marriage of John Lockwood to a Bessy/Bessie/Elizabeth after the death of Emma Lockwood in 1878, but even that doesn't look straight forward..............

Perhaps a fresh look in the morning may help  :)

Oh, I'd seen that but then saw that Clara was only one and the other children were missing......Might the baby belong to the son John, then?  https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NFC7-4G8
this is confusing...but we'll sort it out eventually... Can anyone see Clara in 1891 but not with John, as he may have passed. He might be calling his new wife a nickname if this is he...

also If someone would be so kind as to tell me Lavinia's last name in 1891 ?

Hi there  :)

It looks like Lavinia married a David Henry Parker in Bradford R D Dec qtr 1882. He was b. Birmingham Warks about 1856.  They have a 4 year old daughter Emma and a 2 year old daughter in the 1891 census. Lavinia's birthplace is given as Roxborough Yorkshire.

Missed these posts yesterday but to catch up.
Lavinia Lockwood did marry David Henry Parker and I have traced her family through to 1901 and I believe she died in Bradford in 1940. Her husband died in 1905. She provides no clues to the rest of the family though.
Clara Lockwood married Joshua Stead in 1885 and died in Bradford in 1900 leaving a baby with her sister Annie that died in 1901. Annie herself married George Tomlinson in 1897 in Bradford.
Janet Lockwood I now believe to have died a youngster in 1878.
John Lockwood I cannot confidently trace.
Emma Lockwood married John Bland in Bradford in 1882 then disappears.
Sarah Lockwood married Arthur Yeoman in Bradford in 1882 then disappears without trace.
Mary Ann Sacker married Harry Allcock in Bradford in 1874 and she is the only one I have been able to trace in 1881 living in Anvil St, Bradford. But none of her siblings with her.
Their father John was alive in 1881 and he may have been with the remaining children but where?
