William Robertson Police Sergeant Bathgate

Looking for any information on William Robertson who was a police sergeant in Bathgate from around 1901 until around 1918. Born 1871 in Channelkirk Berwickshire, son of James Robertson and Agnes Anderson, he married Janet Tinlin Goodwin(daughter of Peter Goodwin and Charlotte Tinlin) in Edinburgh in 1903 and according to her mothers death certificate in 1918, was living in Bathgate at that time.
I believe William died in Melrose in 1925.
