William NEWLAND born 1815
« on: Thursday 08 March 12 17:48 GMT (UK) »
William Newland was born in Lambeth in 1815 - unknown parents
He married a Sarah and had at least 7 children.
On 1851 census for Cowley, Middlesex - shows all family - he was a Policeman.
Eldest child Emma born 1844 in Cowley.
Moved circa 1855, to Kensington.
Sarah is shown at Kentbury Cottage - as married - no William present.
Is there anybody who could check any police lists or enrollment listings to get any further info on him and possibly his parents.
many thanks

Hi genid

www.familysearch.org has the baptism of a William Newland on 9 Nov 1815 in Lambeth.  Parents Thomas & Honor Newland.  Looks like these parents also had a Sarah Eleanor Newland (baptised St Mary Lambeth 1813)
Banns announced for a possible marriage in 1811 at St Andrew, Holborn...Thomas Newland, Honor Ansell

Many thanks - I noticed this on familysearch and have it noted.
But as far as I know the police records will give his date of birth and parents names - it's this I would like someone to look at - I live in Portrush, Co Antrim so cannot do the research myself.

Looks as though he may have married Sarah Rose who was a widow in the Dec Qtr 1837 Eton . Banns were read in St.John the Baptist Hillingdon Sept/Oct 1837 Gives William Newland of Taplow Bucks.
