Incoming Passenger List from Canada
« on: Monday 12 March 12 08:06 GMT (UK) »
In 1941 a Canadian soldier married an English girl in Berkshire but 4 years later he returned to Canada with his unit. It is believed that at some point he might have returned to the UK but I don't have access to the records.
Can anyone help please?.
His name was Robert J C Lennox but I have no idea of his age.
The lady in question is still alive so please don't post anything referring to her.

Do you know roughly when he was born?

There are quite a few Robert Lennox's after 1945  :D

Hello Carol

Blimey that was a quick response.
Based on his wife's age I would think about 1920.

That's a possible, but unless he was a bigamist he would have had to get a divorce here, which seems a bit unlikely at that point and I can't see why he would have gone to Wales as he was based around the Berkshire/Surrey area during the war.

It's possible he didn't return to the UK (certainly not to his wife) so he could have gone anywhere.

Thanks very much for taking the time to look anyway.

By the late 1940's/1950's he could have flown back over of course!

If he had a bit of money that is  8)

I don't think he would have flown anywhere but anything's possible, he seems to have been in trouble in Canada (he apparently went AWOL in the Army), but I've just been informed that he could have been born around 1910 and could have left Canada at anytime from 1946 as nobody has any trace of him.

In that case Mike- he may well have changed his name to avoid being found.

I am not sure how I missed this thread.  I might be able to help as I know the son of RJC Lennox and his family quite well, in fact, was talking to him tonight.
