JOSEPH HOGG (NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE) BORN AROUND 1897

I am trying to research a relative's background.  His grandfather was Joseph Hogg, but neither he nor his father knew anything about Joseph's background.  I believe he is likely to have been born in Newcastle upon Tyne around 1897 (died around 1976).  I have found a likely candidate on the 1901 census, living in Elswick Terrace East, Newcastle, aged 3 with a Lily Hogg (aged , a Annie Hogg (aged 29) and a Margaret Joyce (aged 32 and listed on the census as married and as Annie Hogg's sister).  I can find no trace of any of them in the 1911 census, however.  if anyone has any pointers or has come across any of these people in their researchers, I would be grateful for some pointers.

I think you need to locate Joseph's marriage 1st to find out his father's name & occupation.

There is a death recorded for a Joseph Hogg in the March quarter of 1976 and a birth date of 20th November 1897 is given.

GRO has a birth record for Joseph in the December quarter of 1897 with a mother's maiden name of PARKER.

Both these events are in the Newcastle upon Tyne registration district.

I will just suggest Joseph is a possible  inmate in the cottage childrens home in Ponteland

I am researching my own Hogg's & found this.

I happen to have a Joseph Hogg & I also have Hogg's who were in Newcastle.
