The Cambridge University Heraldic and Genealogical Society was formed in 1957 as the result of the merger of a previous society of the same name (which was founded in 1950) with the Cambridge University Society of Genealogists (which was founded in 1954). In recent years, the Society has been fortunate in attracting a number of enthusiastic town members.
