1841 and 1851 census - Stockport
« on: Tuesday 17 May 05 07:17 BST (UK) »
Dear All,

I am trying to locate the following people in the 1841 and 1851 censuses. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thomas (aged 28 in 1851 and 18 in 1841) and Sarah Ann Allcard (nee Wharmby, aged 25 in 1851 and 15 in 1841). Thomas was born in Ardwick, Lancashire and, in 1861, was a butcher. Sarah Ann was born in Stockport.

In 1861 they were living in Hulme Manchester, with 5 children, only one of whom (whose name I cannot read) would have been alive in 1851.

Thomas was the son of John Allcard, a farmer, and Sarah Ann Wharmby the daughter of Samuel Wharmby, a publican, who I have as living at Lord Street, Stockport in an 1841 directory of Manchester.

Hoping that someone can give me a hand!

Richard Queripel

Thanks for your very kind reply.  I did not mean to post twice but I couldn't see my first post when I'd done it and then the site kept saying I was a guest even though I'd logged in, so I did it again.  Sorry.  I won't make the same mistake again!
