Its Alexander/Christophers son Alexander he married a Martha Fichett in Liverpool 1834 I think. Trying to retrace his family backwards from there. Hence looking for his fathers wedding date etc. He was born the son this is between 1821/1824 in Scotland

ok, transcript fail!

From wonderful Freecen, and 1851:

Christopher Parkinson, 60, general labourer b. Barn Old Wick York
Jane Parkinson, 60 b. Caithness - Bour
Christien Parkinson, 26, Millener
Christopher Parkinson, 19, Jrnymn Carver & Gilder
Stirling PARKINSON, 15, Apprentice Brass Found
Jessie Smart, granddaughter, 15, millener

You line is from what you have said, that of Alexander Parkinson and wife Janet (?maiden name):

Alexr Parkinson 50, warehouseman b. England
Janet Parkinson 45 b. Scotland
Alexr Parkinson 20
Christina Parkinson 17
Cathrine Parkinson 15
Nancy Parkinson 12
Christopher Parkinson 9
Stirling Parkinson 5

Address: Catherine St No 15, Edinburgh St Cuthberts

See the dilema and confusion on parents' names now...sorry, slow on the uptake!

Monica

Not a problem. Just wish people in those days could take things down correctly. I really appreciate your help.

The birth entry for Barnoldswick for Alexander, nothing showing on IGI. Nor can I see a death on Scotlands People for an Alexander or Christopher Parkinson post 1855. There are marriages potentially for some of the children we are seeing:

Stirling Parkinson 26, plumber
Janet Parkinson 22
Christopher Parkinson 22 Days

Address: 15 Catherine St, Edinburgh

A Stirling Parkinson married a Janet Young on 21 Sept. 1860 in Edinburgh. Might be worth you looking at the marriage entry to confirm his parents' details. Scottish marriage certs (like death certs) include full details on both father and mother's names. Would let you confirm whether that marriage cert we found for a Christopher to a Jane Steven is the right one - even though we have the difference between Alexander and Christopher for father's name.

Added: Stirling Parkinson died the year his son Christopher was born - 1861 in Edinburgh.

Has anyone got any parish records for Caithness.? Would like to search for Mary Ann bithe 1815/16. The Christopher Oddie marriage is the correct one . Thank for all your help.

How would i find info for Christopher Oddie Prkinson according to censuses he was born in 1791 in Barnoldswick.
