Help find Stephen Mitchell - Completed

Stephen Mitchell born 1789 to Stephen Mitchell and Agness Nielston in Linlithgow (on S/P) Stephen was the philanthropist who paid for the building of the Mitchell Library, Glasgow. I've read about his Grandfather being a tobacconist in Linlithgow, but Don't know his name. My ancestor was also Stephen Mitchell m. Kathrine Taylor 1725 their son Stephen b. 1732. Do I have a connection here? I appreciate any help given, thanks.

Hi Monical Thanks for this info, I did know about him but it's so interesting, I'm sure others will be pleased to read about him too. I've now got onto the Mitchell library to find out more. I have a missing link namely his grandfathers date of birth, but I'll find it.
