The George & Dragon Kingston Hill
« on: Wednesday 28 March 12 19:59 BST (UK) »
Hi, does anyone know if the former George & Dragon Inn at Kingston Hill is now known as the Kingston Lodge hotel please? I'm looking for an old image of the George & Dragon as a relative lived there during the 1930s. He was known as Jimmy Gold, one of 'The Crazy Gang', historical telephone directories show him there in 1935 and 36. I don't know if he actually kept or owned the Inn or just lodged there for a time.
Any help would be great, many thanks.

"The well-established and respected Kingston Lodge Hotel opened in 1726 and was originally called the George & Dragon."

Hi

Don't know if you ever managed to find an old image of the George & Dragon?

There is a super old image of it, dated early 1900's, on the brilliant 'Gravel Roots' website; http://www.gravelroots.net/history/a10.html#here
