Have you Left A Time Capsul

I am lucky in the fact that the last two houses I lived in, Hertfordshire and Norfolk, the I had building work done.

In both foundations I left a glass Jar(hope it lasts) with a list of our family and birth places plus other bits and bobs of the day.

I hope if anyone find them they are keen genealogists,
It is the sort of thing I would love to find.

Has anyone else left one anywhere?

We left our footprints in some concrete at the bottom of the garden.  They are still there. One very small, one a bit bigger and two adult ones.  My husband put the date.  Trouble was he put in the 19 and forgot the next bit for some reason.  So there they are 4 sets of footprints made in 19.. ?

He also put the date he laid the path at the side of the house but this had to be dug up last week when I had the drains fixed.

Oh well i can try again sometime.

Similar thing.  Hubby and I put handprints outside our greenhouse door when we finished building it. The date is 1991.

Sylviaann, just think 100 years from now somebody on Rootshcat will put a photo up of your footprints on a Post with the query ... who do you think these belonged to, and what year

We always sign our names on the plaster before wallpapering.  Unfortunately, they have been made-up names so far:  my (ex) husband's favourite was Hernandez de los Pratt-Winkel.  The years have been genuine, though.  Erm.     But then again

Somewhere in the garden of 'Firbank'  Sandy Lane in Goostrey Cheshire there is a tin box with lots of bits in it, each of the family contributed something and wrote a little bit about what they had put into the box and why.  The box has all our names and ages and the date that it was buried.

I do so hope that in some year to come somebody will come across it whilst they are gardening.   just hope that they bother to open it. :-
