« on: Thursday 29 March 12 23:47 BST (UK) »
Where would a person receive training on how  to use a comptometer in Australia during the 1950's.

Wow, my wife saw one in a Museum, it made her feel like an antique herself. ;D

As the OH was a comp operator she went to Burroughs the manufacturer. They did training up to and into the 1960's.

Operators were called comptometrists, were they not, Neil?

I used to work for a Comptometer and Tabulator company - I was working on "Desktop Programmable Calculators"!

The comptometer department were trained on the job.
The comptometers used were glorified adding machines (or at least they were to my young eyes!!) ;D
