....

anywhere you can find to put them - or even on a separate attached page if you prefer. Just make sure to ask for a research cert and include all the reference above - name/record type/district/year (and qtr if there's one given), volume number & page.

This way the GRO in Roscommon dont have to do any searches, and the charge should be just €4 per cert.

The parish records for Portlaoise are on the Laois page at www.rootsireland.ie. I think you can order the microfilm of Portlaoise from the FHL library.
My ancestor Ellen Kinsells (b 1821 Mountmellick) married a James Lalor of Rosenallis around 1840. Interesting to see another connection.

The index for Portlaoise at Rootsireland has three other children for Peter kinsella & Mary lalor: Thomas (1857), Mary 91858) and Edward (1862), but no marriage or earlier baptism for Peter.  There are Kinsellas listed in nearby townlands in the Tithe Applotement Books (1830s indexed in Ancestry.com) and on the Griffiths Valuation Index (available free online).

From burial records from Maryborough cemetery 1897-1922
the first burial of Lalor is
Edward Lalor; 57, 3/12/1897

The first Kinsella is
Joseph Kinsella; 3months (parents-John & Norah) 17/5/1928

I will try for Peter Kinsella, and if I could find him it would give me the burial plot for them both, and deaths.

wow! thanks guys at least that gives me new names to look up :D

i know Ellen came to England (which is where she married my great great grandfather) but i dont know if the rest of her family came over here too, there is no one at all to ask :(

with the mary 1858, i have a mary for 1869 so was wondering if the earlier mary may have passed away?

My search for Peter Kinsella in the Maryborough burial came up with nothing.

After the baby in 1928, the next record for Kinsella is
Thomas Kinsella; 23, 18/5/1951

Esther Kinsella; 78, widow, 20/4/1981
The records go as far 1990, but my photos of the graveyard do not show any other Kinsella, so they must have left Portlaoise at some stage.

Rosenallis records show lots of Lalor's , only a few Kinsella
Elizabeth Kinsella; 38, 2/9/1908
Elizabeth Kinsella; 81, 30/8/1911
Joseph Kinsella; 68, 20/7/1939

The 1911 census shows a lot of Kinsella in Maryborough,  but again, they are buried somewhere else.
