Hi,

Would anyone who has a copy of this book be able to have a look in the Index for the name Josolyne (could be spelt differently).  Their occupations were farmers and school teachers.

Hi Ann,

I  now have  the book and can confirm that John and Thomas Josolyne are included in the index.  They were both headmasters of Wareside Grammar School, Thomas taking over from his father, John, who died in 1828 .

Hi Sandie,

I understand that the book is now 'out of print' but being a resident of Hertfordshire I ordered a copy to loan from the library service in order to help a previous rootschat posting.
I have not as yet returned the book so can confirm that there is no mention of Lamberts in the index.  If there is any other subject you can quote I will gladly look it up.

thanks for looking Peter,

Its funny my hubbies Lamberts were a very large family in Ware & Great Amwell lots of them been in the area since 1700 at least.  most wre Bargemen or like David Lambert in early 1800.s ran a pub and owned a barge and yet I can find very little written anywhere in books of Ware or Great Amwell.

as an aside do any of your Cornish's come from St Germains cornwall by any chance  or Greenwich London?

Hello Sandie,

Wareside is perhaps a little too far away from the River Lea to be home for the barge people.

I have traced my roots back to Kea in Cornwall, no connections with  St.Germains or Greenwich.

Hi Peter,

It is mentioned in the book that there was a letter that my ggg grandfather - Thomas Mumford Josolyne - wrote to his intended.

I know it was a while ago that you read the book but do you remember where she found her source?  I am hoping that the letter is kept at the Ware Museum.
