Western Morning News archives
« on: Monday 02 April 12 15:37 BST (UK) »
Hi

Can anyone tell me how I go about getting info from the papers archive.

I'm specifically looking for an obituary for my grandmother Mary Kathleen (Molly) Harrison nee Marshall who I think died in 1935.
Her death was registered in Islington but she came from Plymstock and her parents still lived there.

Thanks to all
Jacqui

Hi Jacqui

The British Newspaper Archives website www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk has copies of the Western Morning News from 1922 to 1950. Go to the home page and select the Western Morning News under the "Search by Publication" heading. If you enter your grandmother's full name you should get a result for her obituary dated Monday 30 Sept 1935.

You can search this site for free but in order to download articles you need to purchase credits. However the good news is that at the moment if you join up you receive 30 free credits (up to 6 page views) to help get you started.

I hope this works for you. Good luck with your searching
