You may like to contact the paper to see if they could look up the death notice. However, the website link on the above website to the newspaper itself does not work. There is an email address there which may be useful.

Sorry about that Cass.

I had read the postings several times over the past few days, but today I didn't go back over it.  ::)

I've enjoyed the search all the same.  ;D

Just a little update on this person.... she actually moved to New Zealand, and I did correspond with her for a very short period of time, but I haven't had any reply for some time, so I don't know what happened.

Does anyone know where I can search death records in New Zealand, she lived in Rangiora North Canterbury.

What year were you last in contact?

Hi Bankhall,

You can search for NZ death records at NZ BDM here:
https://www.bdmhistoricalrecords.dia.govt.nz/search/

I have just searched the site from 1980 to today's date for that name and the Polish(?) surname without success. She might still be living.

You need to tell us more about her, please.

What year did you last communicate with her, and what country was she living in then?
Did she live in NZ after or before going to England?
Could she have died in England? Have you searched UK BDM?

I last heard from her in 2016.  She was in Rangiora North Canterbury, New Zealand.

She was in England originally, emigrated to Australia around 1988, and later moved to New Zealand, I don't know what year.

I was contacted by her son, who lives in Cornwall, England, through Ancestry, and I have messaged him asking if everything is ok but have not had a reply, and he has not logged into Ancestry in over a year.

It is such a shame that when I finally got contact with her, it stopped after only one letter from her. :(

Thank you for the link to NZ death records.

Greetings from the North Island.

If a three yearold address was in the upper North Island [my location] I would just Google it. Check out the location, [street view] and send a letter to the street number of a likely looking adjacent dwelling. Some neighbours, sadly, do not communicate, but many still do so.

We do have members living a lot closer, who may be able to assist you more.
