Hi,
Just had word from the friend who is trying to access my tree.  He can't do it!  I have tried to explain what has been said here but it still isn't working.  Has anybody got a tree they could give me access to just so that I can see what he has to do.  Any old tree would do!  And you can remove me as soon as i have sorted the problem.
Yours hopefully,
Abiam2

You can check to see if he has Accepted your invitation ;D

Go to Tree Pages, Tree Settings, Click on the Sharing tab.
If he has the words (has not responded to invite) then he hasn't dealt with the email correctly!

Yes, I have checked that.  He has not accepted.  I know he hasn't done whatever you have to do properly.

The first step would be to ask him if he has received the email from Ancestry.  As I said earlier, many invitations are intercepted by spam filters.   If he's had the email, he has to click on the link contained within the email, and from there he can set up his own password, etc.

Then he isn't clicking on the links offred in the email? ???

Either that or he gets all confused when Ancestry asks him to set up a password?

Yes, they have received the invite and cannot access.  I do not know what else I can do,  it is a shame as he is a direct descendant!  He is an intelligent person who should have no problem.  The only thing I can think that might be causing the problem is that he does not have his own computer and uses the local library.  That is where he emails me from but he only visits a couple of times a week.  So everything takes place slowly!

Hi there.

Is your rellie using their own personal Ancestry sub or Ancestry Library Edition? It seems to me I have seen mention on a thread or two that there is no access to trees using the Library Edition? You could try using RootsChat Search to look for a thread that mentions the library edition and trees.
